Advocating for Second Chances
The Taubes Law attorneys, in addition to individual representation, are actively involved in all aspects of SECOND CHANCES causes …. for good reason:
- In the U.S., between 1973 and 2023, 205 people sentenced to death were found not guilty. 16 of them spent longer than 30 years in prison.
- Since 1989, at least 375 people have been exonerated due to DNA testing.
- In CT, in 2022 , the average cost to house each inmate in a correctional facility was $185,000 per person.
- Utilizing commutations, parole and compassionate release, worthy individuals are returned to society, with significantly lower recidivism, and considerable savings.
What We Have Accomplished
To date, through commutations and parole verdicts, our team at Taubes Law have reduced 97 incarcerated citizens’ sentences by a total 1,035 years!
